Frequently Asked Questions (FAQS)
Do you require a meet and greet to schedule services?
A: Yes, a meet and greet is required only for dogs for both in-home and drop-in visits. It is optional for all other species.
Do you have a fenced-in backyard?
A: Yes, my backyard is fenced. The fence height is 4ft so if your pup is a jumper, please include that information when booking so I can be sure to make a special note to do potty walks instead.
Is it required that pets are spayed/neutered?
A: For in-home pet sitting, female dogs older than 6 months are required to be spayed. I’m able to host intact males of all ages. I can also consider female dogs who aren’t spayed on a case-by-case basis with additional charges.
What vaccinations are required for in-home sitting and drop-in visits?
A: Rabies vaccinations are required for ALL dogs 6 months and older and cats that go outdoors. Bordetella is recommended for all dogs that will be staying at my home. DHPP (distemper/parvo) is strongly encouraged for all puppies 6 months and under.
Do you offer in-home pet sitting for rabbits and cats?
A: At this time, I only offer drop-in visits for rabbits due to limited space inside my home, and drop-in visits for cats due to allergies (I am also unsure how my dogs will react to cats).
Do you offer drop-in visits for species not listed on the website?
A: I do not offer any drop-in services for species other than those listed on the website at this time, but I do have plans to expand services to other animals in the future. Stay tuned!
Is your business insured?
A: Yes, I am bonded and fully insured.
What experience do you have working with animals?
A: I’ve worked with cats, dogs, pocket pets, and exotics (reptiles and birds) over the past 20 years. I have extensive knowledge in veterinary care along with experience in grooming (mainly dogs). I am comfortable administering medications although there is a medication administration charge for injectable medicine.
Do you offer grooming services for in-home pet sitting?
A: I don’t offer grooming services; however, I can provide a bath along with ear cleaning, nail trimming or grinding (if your pet tolerates it), and a sanitary shave as a complimentary service if requested.
How long will my pet be alone during in-home pet sitting?
A: I currently work full-time from home, so your pet will rarely ever be alone except for times I will be away doing drop-in visits (no more than an hour at a time at most).
What are some important things clients should know when booking with your company?
A: All pets are allowed on furniture and treated as though they are my own pet. I do not kennel my dogs, but I do have a couple of crates for dogs up to 30-40lbs if they are used to sleeping in one at night. I have plenty of toys, treats, beds, and blankets but I encourage you to bring any items that would make your pet’s stay feel more comfortable. Food is not provided and needs to be supplied. I utilize a visit report for drop-in visits so pet parents can know how the visit went. I also like to send picture updates as well.
